Meet SAMantha
My name is Samanth Clark and I have been a union member for 14 years working for the Department of Corrections as a Correctional Program Officer (CPO). Working as a CPO, I am often thinking of how I can best serve my clients and fellow staff members. Knowledge is key and being union involved has made me a well-rounded staff member and co-worker. I currently serve as the Secretary of Grievances for the Chapter on Criminal Justice, and I know first-hand how important access to information is for our union’s work. That’s why I’m running to be your Recording Secretary on the United We Win slate.
I believe that our union belongs to all of us, the members who work every day to provide care, education, and support to the people of Massachusetts. That means SEIU 509 needs to be democratic, not just in its elections for leadership but in the decisions that our elected officers make every day. As recording secretary, I’ll make sure our union leaders are transparent and accessible to you, so every member knows what's going on and can make their voice heard. I'll take thorough and accurate minutes at our joint executive board meetings, and make them easily available to all members. I hope our slate can count on your vote in November!
